521.12  WEEDS, SHRUBBERY, ETC.
   (a)   No person, as owner or tenant, shall permit any natural growth of weeds, grass, brush, thickets, shrubbery or any other combustible substance exceeding a height of twelve inches or more such that the growth constitutes a hazardous or unsanitary condition. Upon notification of such hazardous or unsanitary condition by the Chief of the Fire Department or his designated subordinate, a tenant or property owner shall have fifteen days to remedy  such condition or shall be in violation of this section.

   (b)   In the event the property owner shall fail to comply within the required time the Chief of the Fire Department shall certify the violation to Council who shall be vested with the power and authority to order the lots cleared and to assess the cost of the same to the property owners in accordance with Sections 731.51 through 731.54 of the Ohio Revised Code.
   (c)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. At the expiration of the fifteen day period set forth in subsection (a) hereof, each day of continued violation shall be considered a separate offense.
