§ 242.05 GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES OF CHIEF AND OFFICERS.
   (a)   The Chief of Police shall direct the administration and operation of the Police Department, and in addition to policies transmitted to him or her by the Mayor, he or she shall establish such other policies, directions, rules and regulations for the administration and operation of the Department as he or she sees fit. The Chief of Police shall have such powers and duties as are consistent with R.C. §§ 737.18 and 737.19 and other provisions of the Ohio Revised Code.
   (b)   Police officers shall have the powers conferred by law upon police officers in all villages of the state and such powers, not inconsistent with the nature of their office, as are conferred by ordinance.
