As of the expiration of one year from the date of such hiring of a nonresident police officer, upon the police officer being served with written notice of the absolute requirement to become a resident of the Borough, and said officer failing and refusing to maintain such residency within 30 days after the service of said notice, the proper Borough officials shall be authorized and empowered, and are so authorized and empowered by this Part, to discharge and dismiss such police officer as a full-time police officer of the Borough of Minersville.
