The Fire Chief may then appoint an Assistant Chief from each recognized Borough Fire Company. The Borough Council must approve the list on a yearly basis. The list of Assistant Chiefs presented to Council must be in order of command, i.e., First Assistant Chief, Second Assistant Chief and the like. Should any Assistant Chief be unable to complete the position of Assistant Chief, the Fire Chief may than present an updated Assistant Chief list to the Borough Council for approval.
