§ 1-221  VACANCIES.
   1.   A.   If any member of the Board or of the Advisory Committee, if one be created, shall miss two successive regular meetings of the Board, without reasonable cause or excuse, the remaining members of the Board shall declare the office vacant, and shall immediately so advise the Borough Council, submitting a statement therewith of the reasons for declaring of office vacant. Upon approval of such action by the Borough Council, the Mayor shall, in the event a vacancy so occurs in the office of a member of the Board, appoint another to serve for the unexpired term.
      B.   In the event that the vacancy occurs in the membership of the Advisory Committee, the Board shall submit the name of the person selected to fill the unexpired term to the Borough Council for approval. In this latter instance, the Board may submit the name of the new member at the same time that it advises the Borough Council of the vacancy occurring.
   2.   A.   If any member of the Board, or of the Advisory Committee, if one be created, fails to properly perform the duties of his or her office, the remaining members of the Board shall declare the office vacant, and shall immediately so advise the Borough Council, submitting a statement therewith of the reasons for declaring of office vacant.
      B.   Upon approval of such action by the Borough Council, the Mayor shall, in the event a vacancy so occurs in the office of a member of the Board, appoint another to serve for the unexpired term.
      C.   (1)   In the event that the vacancy occurs in the membership of the Advisory Committee, the Board shall submit the name of the person selected to fill the unexpired term to the Borough Council for approval.
         (2)   In this latter instance, the Board may submit the name of the new member at the same time that it advises the Borough Council of the vacancy occurring.
