(A) The administrative duties of the Code Official shall be to receive applications required and issue permits and furnish the prescribed certificates.
(B) In the enforcing of the compliance with any building law or ordinance, the removal of illegal conditions, the securing of the necessary safeguards during construction and in requiring adequate exit facilities in buildings and structures, the Building Official shall issue such notices or orders as may be necessary.
(C) The Code Official shall keep comprehensive records of all applications received and permits and certificates issued, and of notices and orders issued. The Building Official shall retain on file copies of required plans and all documents relating to building work so long as any part of the building or structure to which they relate may be in existence. All such records shall be open to public inspection for good and sufficient reasons during office hours observed by the city but shall not be removed from the city offices.
