Except as approved by the chief of police, no person other than a police officer, shall fire or discharge a gun or bow, spring or air actuated pellet gun, air gun or BB gun, or other weapon which propels a projectile by use of gunpowder or other explosive, springs or compressed gas, jet or rocket propulsion. For purposes of this section, a "bow" shall include any bow capable of casting an arrow more than fifty feet (50'). (Ord. 372, 6-22-1972; amd. Ord. 728, 9-26-1988)
