(A) It shall be the duty and responsibility of the Bureau of Fire Prevention to investigate, report, and recommend on the following matters:
(1) Measures necessary to prevent fires.
(2) The storage and use of explosives and flammable materials.
(3) Installation and maintenance of automatic and other fire alarm systems and fire extinguishing equipment.
(4) The maintenance and regulation of fire escapes.
(5) The investigation of the cause, origin and circumstances of fire.
(6) Those matters consistent with fire prevention in general.
(B) It shall be the duty of the Bureau of Fire Prevention upon request to furnish to the Chief of the Fire Department any and all reports or recommendations, and it shall be the duty of the Chief of the Fire Department to recommend to the President and Board of Trustees such additional ordinances or amendments to existing ordinances as he may deem necessary for the safe guarding of life and property against fire.
