(A) Except as may be provided otherwise by statute or ordinance, no official, council member, board member, agent or employee of the village shall render himself personally liable for any damage that may accrue to persons or property as a result of any act required or permitted in the discharge of his duties under this chapter. (See Local Governmental Employees Tort Immunity Act, ILCS Ch. 745, Act 10, § 1-101 et seq.)
(B) Any suit brought against any official, council member, board member, agent or employee of this village as a result of any act required or permitted in the discharge of his duties under this chapter shall be defended by the Village Attorney until the final determination of the legal proceedings.
