At the organizational meeting following each municipal election, the Town Council shall elect one of its members as Mayor, and the Mayor shall serve at the pleasure of the Town Council. The Mayor shall be the official head of Town government and shall preside at all meetings of the Town Council. The Mayor shall exercise such powers and duties as conferred by the general laws of this State and this Charter and as directed by the Town Council. In the case of a vacancy in the office of Mayor, the remaining members of the Town Council shall choose from their membership a

to serve as Mayor for the unexpired term.
