(a) Tap connections to the sanitary sewer lines in the Village shall be made only upon written permit issued by the Village and under the direction and supervision of the Village. Unless otherwise authorized, the Village shall provide the tap into the main sanitary sewer line. Any work the Village cannot perform will be passed on to the owner as an additional connection charge.
(b) All applications for permits to make tap connections to the sanitary sewer lines shall be in writing on forms supplied by the Village and signed by the owner or authorized agent of the owner, making such tap connection. The application shall be filed with the Mayor of the Village who is hereby authorized and empowered to issue such permits under his signature as Mayor or the signature of his/her designee. The Village shall have five (5) working days to begin work on the sewer tap
(c) No tap connection shall be made to the Village sanitary sewer lines without the presence of the designated Village employee as designated by Council to make such inspections. Permit holders shall notify the Village of the time and place he will make the tap connections into the main sewer line and the tap connections shall be made under the supervision and direction of the Inspector.
(d) The owner shall provide "as built" drawings for all utility lines installed. The owner shall install wire warning tape and a clean out outside the structure with pipe fittings approved by the Village.
(e) Any person making a tap connection to the Village sanitary sewer lines in violation of the terms of this ordinance is subject to the penalty and damages as provided in this chapter.
(f) If tap connections have been made without the presence of the Village Sewer Line Inspector, the owner or his authorized agent shall be ordered to remove at his cost, all soil at the place of the tap connection in such manner so that the tap connection may be examined and inspected by the Village Inspector and if not made according to the specifications for such tap connection, the owner or his authorized agent shall be ordered to remove the tap connection and make a new connection according to the specifications for such tap connection under the supervision and direction of the Village , and shall pay for any and all damage that may have been caused to the Village sanitary sewer line by the making of such tap connection in violation of this section.
(g) No downspout, surface or other nonsewage waters shall be discharged into the sewer lines of the sanitary sewer.
