(a) A certified employee receiving a classification change shall retain certified status if the change is to a classification within the same classification series.
(b) If a provisional employee who did not retain certified status following a classification change receives a probationary reduction or is voluntarily demoted to a classification in which he served and was certified within the prior two year period, the employee's prior certified status in that classification shall be restored.
(c) Whenever the Civil Service Commission changes the classification plan, certified employees shall retain certified status in the same or a similar classification in the new classification plan.
