An "emergency appointment" is an unclassified appointment to a position to meet an emergency situation, and limited to a maximum of 120 calendar days. Such emergency appointment is authorized only when the Civil Service Commission determines that an emergency exists, based upon the submission by the appointing authority of documentation establishing an emergency. Successive appointments of an emergency nature are prohibited. Emergency service shall not count as part of the probationary period. All emergency appointees must meet the minimum requirements for the positions to which they are appointed.
