(a) All property owners of single family dwellings or multi-family dwellings containing fewer than six units, regardless of occupancy located within the City shall be required to pay for garbage and refuse service provided for each eligible unit under the specifications of the City’s garbage contract. Once per week garbage collection service shall be provided for all units that qualify for the base level of service.
(b) All commercial properties that are not eligible for collection are required to enter into a contract with a hauler of their choice for the removal of garbage and/or refuse.
(c) All owners of apartments greater than five units are required to enter into a contract with a hauler of their choice for the removal of garbage and/or refuse.
(d) Large items that exceed seventy-five pounds or oversized items may be set out with your garbage but shall be limited to one item per week per unit. Large items with CFC’s are required to have documentation confirming that the CFC has been removed by a certified technician.
(e) Curbside recycling collection shall be available to all persons occupying or living in single family dwellings or multi-family dwellings containing five or less units located within the City.
(f) The City Manager shall make such rules and regulations with reference to the handling, collection and disposal of garbage, rubbish, recyclables or yard waste as may be necessary, proper or convenient to facilitate their collection and disposal.
(g) Hazardous waste such as tires, automobile fluids, and lead acid batteries shall not be accepted in the garbage or recycling. (Ord. 08-695. Passed 7-22-08.)
