925.22 AUTHORITY TO ESTABLISH AN IWPT PROGRAM.
These Rules and Regulations incorporate provisions constraining the nature and concentration of materials that may be discharged into the City's system for the following reasons: to protect public health, safety and general welfare; to protect the physical integrity of the public sanitary sewer system and treatment plant; to maintain optimum wastewater treatment process efficiencies and over-all performance; and to prevent the introduction of pollutants into the City's system which are incompatible with the treatment processes and which would either interfere with the process or pass through the process unchanged to the detriment of the environment.
   (a)   Should there be any inconsistencies between the requirements of these Rules and Regulations and the Federal Regulations (40 CFR), a discharger shall be required to meet the more stringent standards.
   (b)   Prior to or subsequent to the promulgation of these Rules and Regulations, industrial waste dischargers shall be required to comply with any revisions to the aforementioned standards (40 CFR). It shall be the responsibility of the discharger to remain informed and to implement the provisions of any revisions of Federal or State regulations regarding their waste discharges.
