§ 51.113 PROTECTION OF METER.
   Where a meter has been placed on a pipe connected to a boiler or other hot water apparatus, double check valves must be placed between such meter and the boiler of hot water apparatus which shall protect such meter from back pressure of steam or hot water. All expense of attaching meters and protecting them from frost and damage shall be paid by the consumer, and any meter found at any time frozen, damaged, or registering incorrectly must be repaired or replaced upon the order of the Public Works Director, or his or her representative, at the expense of the consumer. No meter shall be repaired or removed except with the permission granted by the Water Department. In case the meter shall be damaged by hot water or steam, frost or freezing or any type of neglect, the owner or occupant shall pay for such damages.
