§ 94.27 OPEN BURNING.
   (A)   It is unlawful to burn in any open or exterior space any garbage, refuse, leaves, wood, pallets, shingles, paper, cardboard, or other similar materials in the city limits.
   (B)   Recreational fires are permitted under the following conditions.
      (1)   FIRE PIT. A fire pit includes either a below ground pit or a permanent/portable device intended to contain and control outdoor wood fires.
      (2)   No fire pit shall be larger than three feet in diameter or two feet in height.
      (3)   All below ground fire pits must be at least 25 feet away from any structure. Manufactured fire pits must be kept at least ten feet from any structure.
      (4)   Only natural firewood or commercial logs can be burned in any fire pit.
      (5)   Any recreational burning in the city must be constantly attended and supervised by an adult.
      (6)   If any recreational fire results in a sustainable complaint by adjacent residence or property owner or poses a threat to persons or property, the Fire Department or law enforcement can extinguish the fire.
