§ 93.09 PRUNING; CORNER CLEARANCE.
The city may without notice or consent trim, remove, or cause to be trimmed or removed any tree overhanging any street or right-of-way within the city. The city may prune the branches so that such branches shall not obstruct the light from any street lamp or obstruct the view of any street intersection and so that there shall be a clear space of 14 feet above the surface of the street. The owner of any tree that extends or overhangs a sidewalk within the city shall be responsible for trimming branches that overhang the sidewalk to ensure that there is a clear space of at least eight feet. Said owners shall remove all dead, diseased, or dangerous trees or broken or decayed limbs which constitute a menace to the safety of the public. The city shall have the right to prune any tree or shrub on private property when it interferes with the proper spread of light along the street from a street light or interferes with visibility of any traffic-control device or sign.
