§ 34.51 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context requires or indicates a different meaning.
   BENEFITTED PERSON. The owner of property which has received fire or rescue services, whether such services were requested by the owner or by another person, or provided at the discretion of the city's fire and rescue personnel in the good faith belief that the services were necessary to protect the safety and welfare of persons or property.
   EXTRAORDINARY EXPENSE. The cost of Class A foam used for fire suppression; extra fuel supplied to fire suppression equipment during a single fire service.
   FALSE ALARM. To receive fire service when no need for fire service reasonably exists.
   FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACT. A contract between the city and a township or other city for the city to provide fire service.
   FIRE SERVICE. Any deployment of fire fighting personnel or equipment to extinguish a fire or perform any preventative measure in an effort to protect equipment, life, or property in an area threatened by fire. It also includes the deployment of fire and rescue personnel or equipment to provide fire suppression, rescue, extrication, and any other services related to fire or rescue operations as may occur, including (as defined herein) motor vehicle fire and rescue and medical calls.
   FIRE SERVICE CHARGE. The charge imposed by the city for providing fire service including extraordinary expense.
   MOTOR VEHICLE. Any self-propelled vehicle designed and originally manufactured to operate on or off public roads and highways, including snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, and semi-trailers. It does not include manufactured homes.
   MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT. An agreement between the city and a township or other city for the city's Fire Department to provide assistance to the Fire Department of a township or other city.
