The following rules relating to garbage collections are hereby adopted:
(A) Proper Disposal: Garbage shall be drained of liquid and securely wrapped before being placed in containers. It is not necessary to separate.
(B) Excess Waste: Waste over and above the quantities noted herein will be picked up on request at a reasonable additional charge.
(C) Holidays: When the pick up day falls on a holiday, the waste will be picked up on the next scheduled working day.
(D) Electronic Waste: Electronic waste will not be picked up and shall not be placed for pick up in any refuse, landscape, or recycling toter or any refuse, landscape, or recycling container or otherwise placed for pick up.
(E) Recyclables; Illegal Pick Up:
1. Recyclable materials (glass, aluminum and paper) shall be placed in commercially manufactured sixty five (65) gallon toters for pick up every week or every other week as determined by the village board.
2. It shall be illegal for anyone but the designated licensed scavenger to pick up any recyclable items which are placed at the curb in appropriate recycling containers. Anyone seen illegally picking up said recyclables or having said recyclables in their possession shall be issued a citation unless said person can prove that the recyclables are theirs.
(F) Landscape Waste: Approved containers for landscape waste may include either a thirty three (33) gallon or equivalent reusable container (with an affixed adhesive label which reads "Yard Waste") or kraft type paper bags. Toters may also be leased from the village's contracted waste/landscape hauler. (Ord. 1817, 12-12-2012)
