6-2-9: ANIMAL BITES:
Whenever any animal bites any person, the owner of the animal or anyone having knowledge of the bite shall immediately notify the police chief who shall cause the animal to be confined under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian for a period of at least ten (10) days for appropriate observation. If the animal is determined to have rabies or symptoms of rabies, the animal shall be destroyed and all expenses borne by the owner of said animal. (Ord. 1563, 1-22-2003)
