6-2-2: LICENSING OF DOGS AND CATS:
   (A)   No person shall own, keep or harbor any dog or cat over the age of four (4) months within the village unless such dog or cat is licensed as provided in this chapter.
   (B)   Application for such license shall be to the village clerk on a form providing the owner's name, address and telephone number, and the name, breed, color and sex of each dog or cat, along with a certificate from a licensed veterinarian that states each dog or cat has been inoculated for rabies, in compliance with section 6-2-3 of this chapter.

It is the owner's responsibility to assure the license tag is securely attached to the dog's or cat's collar at all times.
   (D)   The license fee for each dog or cat shall be six dollars ($6.00) per year. All licenses shall expire on June 30 of each year.
   (E)   Such application must be made within ten (10) days after acquiring any dog or cat over four (4) months of age or within ten (10) days after a dog or cat reaches four (4) months of age. A new resident to the village of Midlothian shall have ten (10) days from the date of establishing a residence in the village to obtain said animal license. (Ord. 1563, 1-22-2003)
