All entities who intend to run raffles, as defined under Illinois law 1 shall obtain a raffle license. Such raffle license shall be limited to those organizations that are organized, established and operate for religious, educational or charitable functions and shall include, but necessarily require an entity to be, a 501(c)3 organization. A 501(c)3 organization is an organization as defined under section 501(c)3 of the internal revenue code. Such raffle license shall be valid for one year from the date of issuance and shall cost five dollars ($5.00). (Ord. 1711, 12-9-2009)
