4-11-4: ELECTRICAL CODE ADOPTED:
   (A)   The last amended Electrical Code of the City of Chicago with the following changes and additions thereto is hereby adopted by the Village of Midlothian:
      1.   The Building Superintendent of the Village of Midlothian shall have primary authority to enforce this code.
      2.   Article 210.8(A)(5) regarding Branch Circuits is amended to allow a single receptacle to be installed for sump pumps and ejector pumps.
      3.   Article 210.8(A)(2) regarding Garages, and 210.8(A)(5) regarding Unfinished Basements is amended to allow a single receptacle that is not readily accessible for appliances located within a dedicated space for each appliance that, in normal use, is not easily moved from one place to another and that is cord and plug connected in accordance with Section 400.10(A)(6), (A)(7) or (A)(8).
      4.   Article 210.12(A) is amended to allow the omission of AFCI protection for a single receptacle located in hallways.
      5.   Article 230.42(B)(1) regarding service size is amended to add minimum electrical service size for a single-family residence shall be a 100-amp service for a single-family home of up to 1500 square feet of habitable space and minimum electrical service size for a single-family residence over 1500 square feet of habitable space is a 200-amp service.
      6.   Electrical Contractor Defined: The term "electrical contractor" means any person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of installing or altering by contract, electrical equipment for the utilization of electricity supplied for light, heat or power not including radio apparatus or equipment for wireless reception of sounds and signals, and not including apparatus, conductors and other equipment installed for or by public utilities (including common carriers) which are under the jurisdiction of the Illinois commerce commission for use in their operation as public utilities, but the term "electrical contractor" does not include employees of such contractor to do or supervise such work.
