The purpose of this code is to provide for public safety, health and welfare through structural strength and stability, means of egress, adequate light and ventilation and protection to life and property from fires and hazards incident to the design, construction, alteration, removal or demolition of buildings and structures within the corporate limits of the Village of Midlothian.
