The duties of the committee shall include the following:
(A) Development of a villagewide marketing strategy for undeveloped business properties, including the development of promotional material.
(B) Meet with owners of undeveloped business property to determine ways in which the village can assist them in marketing of the property.
(C) Advise the board on whether or not the employment of a professional marketing consultant is necessary to accomplish quality economic development.
(D) Assist property owners in finding tenants for vacant businesses.
(E) Meet with businesses that are considering leaving the community to encourage them to remain in the village and to identify if there is any action that can or should be taken to assist them.
(F) Study the conditions and trends of development, advise the village board of its growth and potential.
(G) Work closely with the Midlothian area chamber of commerce to accomplish the above items.
(H) The committee may also be given other duties by the president of the board of trustees to help the committee coordinate their efforts with the village board and other community groups. (Ord. 1364, 9-13-1995)
