(A) Pursuant to the city's Ethics Ordinance § 38.055 of this title, the city finds that due to the size of its government and the lack of compensation to its elected officials, and the casual service historically rendered by family members, any prohibition of employment based solely on relationships is not in the best interests of the city or its taxpayers. The city recognizes that any expenditure of public funds is a public trust. Any relationship must be fully disclosed to the City Commission.
(B) In this section, FAMILY MEMBER is defined as a spouse, parent, child, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, or grandchild.
