§ 33.002 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purposes of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   HISTORIC DISTRICT. Those areas or neighborhoods of the city where there are sufficient landmarks and landmark sites to warrant a district designation to protect those features in a uniform manner.
   LANDMARK. Historic structure or improvement which meets the criteria for placement on the United States Interior Department’s National Register of Historic Places.
   LANDMARK SITE. The site on which each landmark is located, with the boundaries of each site conforming to the deed records of the Clerk of the county.
   STRUCTURE OF MERIT. A structure of historical, architectural or aesthetic merit which has not been designated as a landmark.
