§ 37.016 DISCRIMINATION PROHIBITED.
   There shall be no discrimination against or in favor of a candidate for employment or an employee because of race, color, sex, religion or national origin, or because of physical handicap which will not interfere with the adequate performance of duties. Standards with respect to educational requirements shall be used only where essential to the performance of the duties of the position. Standards establishing a maximum age limitation may be adopted by resolution of Council upon the recommendation of the Personnel Board. All candidates for a position shall be evaluated against the same qualification requirements.
