141.01  FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTS.
   (a)   The terms of all contracts providing for fire protection to be rendered by the Village between the Village and other political subdivisions shall be negotiated by a committee representing the Village.  The committee shall consist of the Fire Chief, the Mayor and the Chairman of the Fire Committee of Council.
   (b)   All contracts negotiated shall be for a one-year period to be effective from January 1 to December 31 of each year.
   (c)   A mutual aid contract may be negotiated between the Village and any other subdivision.  Such contracts shall be for a one-year period to be effective from January 1 to December 31 of each year.
   (d)   All contracts negotiated shall be subject to final approval of Council.
   (e)   All money received from the terms of any fire contract from any other subdivision will be deposited in the Fire Equipment Fund.
   (f)   Any existing contract in effect on May 24, 1966, shall remain in effect under conditions of the existing contract until such time as it legally expires.
   (g)   In the event the committee specified in subsection (a) hereof fails to negotiate a satisfactory contract with any subdivision, the Mayor may direct the Fire Chief not to answer calls into that subdivision until such time as a contract can be negotiated, provided that Council adopts a resolution directing the Mayor to take such action.
