The Recreation Director shall, in cooperation with the Village Administrator, oversee various specified functions relating to recreation activities in the Village. The Recreation Program Supervisor shall assist the Recreation Director with all functions delegated to him/her by the Recreation Director.
(a) Appointment. The Recreational Director and the Recreation Program Supervisor shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the consent of Council. The Recreation Director and the Recreation Supervisor may each be part-time positions. Compensation for the Recreation Director and Recreation Program Supervisor, if any shall be established by Council. The Recreation Director and Recreation Program Supervisor shall each serve at the pleasure of the Mayor, and may be removed, with or without cause, by the Mayor in the Mayor’s discretion.
(b) Responsibilities and Duties. The Recreation Director shall perform functions assigned to him/her by the Village Administrator or Council, which relate to the various recreation programs sponsored by the Village. The Recreation Program Supervisor shall perform the functions assigned to him/her by the Recreation Director.
(1) The Recreation Director shall have oversight for all income and expenditures relating to or resulting from the various recreation activities sponsored by the Village, and shall report, periodically, and not less than quarterly, on such matters to the Village Administrator.
(2) The Recreation Director shall attend all meetings of the Recreation Committee and such other meetings as the Mayor, the Village Administrator or the Council may direct.
(3) The Recreation Director shall, from time to time, recommend fees for various recreation activities sponsored by the Village. Said fees shall be in force upon approval by the Council.
(c) Bond. Before assuming their respective positions, the Recreation Director and the Recreation Program Supervisor shall each qualify for and obtain a Fidelity Bond in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000), conditioned upon the faithful performance of his/her duties, with an insurance corporation satisfactory to Council and licensed to do business as a surety in the State of Ohio. Such bonds shall be filed with the Fiscal Officer after being approved by Council. The cost of such bonds shall be borne by the Village.
