(a) Any vacancy on a Village board, commission or appointed office where such vacancy exists through term expiration or in-term death, resignation, or otherwise, shall be advertised for not less than two weeks in the “Good News” and/or other acceptable publication for response from interested residents who may seek such vacancy, prior to the filling of such vacancy by the Mayor or Council.
(b) Vacancies on Council shall also be advertised for citizen response as per subsection (a) hereof.
(c) Appointments to the above vacancies need not be restricted to only applicants responding to published notices.
