911.07 CONNECTIONS REGULATED; TAP-IN FEES.
   (a)    Charges for tapping into the Village’s water system shall be payable at the time of application for the water service and shall be payable to the Village. Additional charges for any Temporary Water Permit, along with any deposit required therefore shall be paid at the time the Temporary Occupancy Permit is issued. The tapping of the Municipality’s water street main for residential use shall be performed only by the employees of the Water Department, except those three-fourths and one inch service lines which are installed within a newly recorded subdivision involving new mains.
   (b)    Fees for each water main tap-in, whether direct or indirect shall be as follows:

Residential (new stub)      $1,000.00
Residential (with existing stub)   469.00
Commercial            1,100.00
Industrial            1,200.00
Temporary Water Permit
In addition, the applicant must pay the cost of the water meter and the meter ball valve for each connection, and must also reimburse the Village for any street repairs necessitated by the tap-in. The Municipality, after payment of the fees set forth herein, shall make the connection from the main to the curb shut-off. The applicant shall be responsible for the costs from the curb shut-off to the house.
(Ord. 04-132. Passed 9-16-04; Ord. 21-101. Passed 3-11-21.)
   (c)    In all new multi-family construction there shall be installed at the applicant’s expense a separate tap-in, three-fourths inch service line and meter and meter ball valve for each family unit.
(Ord. 98-137. Passed 9-3-98.)
   (d)    Connections to the water system shall normally not be made on a Saturday, a Sunday or a holiday. However, for good cause shown, the Director of Streets and Utilities may permit a connection to the water system to be made on a Saturday, Sunday or a holiday, provided that the person making such connection shall first pay one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) to the Village to reimburse the Village for its estimated average increased expenses resulting from the connection not being made on a normal business day.
(Ord. 03-129. Passed 11-20-03.)
