Wherever there is, within a reasonable distance, a water distribution system, each lot shall be provided with access thereto, and fire hydrants shall be placed not more than 500 feet apart on the north or east side of the streets. Where, in the opinion of the City or County agency having jurisdiction, connection with the existing water system cannot be reasonably provided, then each lot must be served by an individual well or other approved system.
