Before entering upon the duties of a special policeman or private detective, every person so appointed shall take and subscribe to an oath or affirmation, similar to the oath or affirmation administered to the regular police officers of the City, which oath or affirmation shall be filed and kept in the office of the Chief of Police.
Such oath or affirmation may be administered by any person duly authorized and empowered to administer oaths.
