Every special police agency and private detective agency shall submit a semiannual report not later than January 7 and July 7 of each year to the Police Division as to the identity of all employees hired or discharged during the preceding six-month period. Any police action taken by any employee of such agency, other than regular patrol duty, must be reported to the Chief of Police within twelve hours.
Any property found or recovered by any special policeman or private detective shall be reported to the Chief of Police immediately. Any misconduct of any special policeman or private detective shall be reported to the Chief of Police immediately. In the event misconduct is known to the person operating a special police agency or private detective agency, the person in charge of such agency must submit a report immediately to the Chief of Police and, if requested by the Chief of Police, must appear and bring action against the special policeman or private detective conducting himself or herself improperly. If a special policeman or private detective conducts himself or herself improperly and this conduct is known to any regular police officer, the regular police officer shall immediately relieve the special policeman from duty, confiscate his or her badge and firearms and call his or her commanding officer who shall submit a report which will be forwarded within a reasonable period of time to the Chief of Police and then in turn to the person operating the agency. Failure to comply with the requirements of this section, or failure to submit any information as provided for herein, shall be deemed a violation of this chapter and considered as just cause to revoke the license of the person or agency.
