SECTION 15.107.  ZONING DISTRICT BOUNDARIES.
   A.   The boundaries of all zoning districts within the Village of Mettawa are hereby established, as shown on the Official Zoning Map contained herein.
   B.   Any land whose classification is not shown thereon and any land hereafter annexed to the Village of Mettawa is hereby classified as lying within the R-1, Single-Family Residence district, the highest restrictive use district under this Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Mettawa, until such classification may be amended by a formal hearing to such other district pursuant to the procedures herein contained in Article X.
   C.   A copy of the Official Zoning Map as amended from time to time shall be maintained and exhibited in the office of the Village Clerk and in the office of the Zoning Administrator.
   D.   All streets, alleys, public ways, waterways, and railroad rights-of-way, if particular zoning classification has not otherwise been specifically designated, shall be deemed to be in the same zone as the property immediately abutting upon such streets, alleys, public ways, waterways, and railroad rights-of-way.  Where the center line of a street, alley, public way, waterway, or railroad right-of-way serves as a zoning district boundary, the zoning of such areas, unless a particular zoning classification is otherwise specifically designated, shall be deemed to be the same as that of the abutting property up to such center line.
   E.   Zoning of Annexed Land.
      1.   A petition for annexation to the Village of Mettawa may include a request from the petitioner that the land being annexed shall, upon annexation, be zoned other than for single family residential purposes. Should such a request be contained in the petition, the proper authorities shall refer the matter to the Zoning, Planning and Appeals Commission to conduct a public hearing and make their recommendations. Following the recommendation of the Zoning, Planning and Appeals Commission, the Village Board shall proceed to take a vote as they normally do in zoning matters and notify the petitioner of the results. If the decision is adverse to his request, the petitioner then may withdraw his petition for annexation or may continue with it.
      2.   Should no request for zoning other than single-family residence be made, the property upon annexation to the Village shall automatically be classified to the R-1, Single-Family Residential district.
