It shall be unlawful to continue or allow the continuation of a legal nonconforming sign for any period longer than authorized for nonconforming accessory structures in Article III of the Zoning Ordinance. Such continuation shall render such sign an illegal sign. Use of any such illegal sign shall cease immediately upon the sign becoming illegal. The owner of any such illegal sign shall commence immediately to raze such illegal sign and diligently continue such efforts until such illegal sign is eliminated.
