SECTION 9.402.  PURPOSE AND SCOPE.
   A.   The purpose of this Building Code is the practical safeguarding of persons and of buildings and their contents from electrical hazards arising from the use of electricity for light, heat, power, radio transmission, signaling and for other purposes. It covers the electrical conductors and equipment installed within or on public and private buildings and other premises, including yards, carnival and parking lots, private industrial substations, and street lighting, together with the associated equipment necessary to its safe operation.
   B.   Enforcement and Interpretation: This Code is an integral part of the ordinances of the Village and as such its provisions are mandatory and are enforceable by the Village in exercising its legal jurisdiction over electrical installations.
   C.   The Building Administrator supervising such enforcement of this Article has the responsibility for making interpretations of the rules, for deciding upon the approval of equipment and materials and for granting special permission contemplated in a number of the rules.
