SECTION 9.109.  CHANGE IN EXISTING USE.
   A.   Unlawful Use: The initial or continued occupancy or use of a building or structure, or of a part thereof, constructed in violation of any regulation contained in this Chapter, shall be deemed a violation and subject to the penalties prescribed in this Chapter.
   B.   Continuation of Existing Use: The legal use and occupancy of a structure approved and constructed in accord with existing ordinances, may be continued without change, except as may be specifically covered in this Chapter and Chapter 15 of the Mettawa Municipal Code or as may be deemed necessary by the Building Administrator for the general safety and welfare of the occupants and the public.
   C.   Change in Use: It shall be unlawful to make any change in the use or occupancy of any structure which would subject it to any special provision of this Building Code without approval of the Building Administrator, and his certification that such structure meets the intent of the provisions of law governing building construction for the proposed new use and occupancy, and that such change does not result in any greater hazard to public safety or welfare. Further, any proposed change shall be in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 15 of the Mettawa Municipal Code of 2001 (Zoning Ordinance).
