SECTION 2.208. STANDING COMMITTEES.
   A.   The following shall be the standing committees of the Board of Trustees:
      1.   Committee on Finance;
      2.   Committee on Public Works;
      3.   Committee on Parks and Recreation.
   B.   Each regular committee shall consist of three (3) members to be appointed by the President.
   C.   Any report of a committee shall be deferred for final action to the next regular meeting after the report is made upon the request of any two (2) members of the Board of Trustees.
   D.   Jurisdiction of Committees.
      1.   The Committee on Finance shall inquire into and propose ways and means to finance the necessary obligations of the municipality and shall make recommendations with respect thereto to the Board of Trustees.
      2.   The Committee on Roads shall inquire into and propose necessary measure for the maintenance of the Village roads and shall make recommendations with respect thereto to the Board of Trustees.
      3.   The Committee on Zoning and Planning shall inquire into the proposals and recommendations of the Plan Commission, shall meet with said Commission as necessary, and shall propose necessary legislation for the adoption of a Zoning Code and any amendments, and for the adoption of an official plan and any amendments thereto, including but not limited to a subdivision control code and shall make recommendations with respect to the foregoing.
      4.   The Committee on Building shall inquire into and propose necessary legislation for the maintenance of building standards within the Village and review recommendations from the Zoning Board of Appeals and shall make recommendations with respect thereto.
      5.   The Committee on Annexation shall inquire into all requests for and/or the advisability of annexation of various parcels to the Village and shall make recommendations with respect thereto.
      6.   The Public Works Committee shall inquire into potable water utility services, sanitary sewer utility services, and other public services and shall inquire into and propose necessary measures for the installation and on-going maintenance of roads and trails and their appurtenances under the jurisdiction and/or control of the Village; secure new trail easements for and/or rights to construct and maintain potable water mains and service lines, and stormwater facilities, trails, roads, or other public service facilities on real property; oversee the securing of contractors' bids and/or proposals to construct and/or maintain new and/or existing trails, roads, and other public facilities; perform or cause to be performed studies of issues affecting traffic within the Village, including traffic regulations; and make its recommendations regarding the foregoing to the President and Board of Trustees.
      7.   Each standing committee shall formulate its own rules of procedure, including time and place of meeting, provided said rules do not conflict with the ordinances of this Village and with the statutes of the State of Illinois.
