In general, noise mitigation must be considered wherever impact is identified. There are three categories according to the guidelines: “no impact”, “impact” or “severe impact”. There are two impact criteria curves that are used to classify these three categories. Noise above the upper impact criteria curve is considered a “severe impact”. Noise above the lower impact criteria (but below the upper impact criteria curve) is considered an “impact” though not severe. Noise below the lower impact criteria curve is considered to have “no impact”.
