§ 113.004 STEPS OF A NOISE AND VIBRATION ANALYSIS.
   (A)   For projects where an analysis is required, noise and vibration impacts of new rail transit projects are identified in three steps according to the FTA Guidance Manual Transit Noise and Vibration Impact Assessment (hereinafter “FTA Manual”). (U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration, “Transit Noise and Vibration Impact Assessment”). The screening procedure identifies locations where a project has little possibility of noise or vibration impact. The general assessment is used to focus on areas where impact is likely, but not certain.
   (B)   The detailed analysis is undertaken to:
      (1)   Quantify the extent and severity of impact at locations where the general assessment identifies impact; and
      (2)   Prescribe mitigation where necessary.
