(A) Metra has a strong commitment to the conduct of its business in a lawful and ethical manner. Metra’s whistleblower policy is designed to be in compliance with the state Whistleblower Act (740 ILCS 174/1 et seq.). The purpose of the policy is to protect persons who engage in good faith disclosure of alleged wrongful conduct to a Metra designated official or a public body.
(B) The policy is intended to:
(1) Encourage persons to disclose serious breaches of conduct covered by Metra policies or law;
(2) Inform persons how allegations of wrongful conduct can be disclosed; and
(3) Protect persons from reprisal by adverse action as a result of having disclosed wrongful conduct.
