The director of emergency management is empowered to:
A. Represent the city on all matters pertaining to emergency management;
B. Prepare appropriate emergency operation plans for the city in support of and consistent with any other city, county, state or federal emergency plans;
C. Implement policy decisions regarding emergency management;
D. Act as director for all emergency management and civil defense efforts of the city during periods of emergency;
E. Obtain vital supplies and equipment lacking and needed for protection of life and property of people and to bind the city for value thereof and, if required, immediately requisition same; and
F. Test the emergency operations organization at drills and to otherwise train and prepare the organization to effect the purpose of this chapter. (Ord. 353, 5-1-2007, eff. 5-24-2007)
