The position of director of emergency management is hereby created. Such officer shall be appointed by the city council. Initially, the duties of this position will be performed by one or more city employees in the Mesquite fire department at the direction of the fire chief. Should the position require the appointment of a full time employee in the future, the city manager may request the city council to fill such a full time position. The city council will approve the salary of such full time employee if and when it approves the full time position. (Ord. 353, 5-1-2007, eff. 5-24-2007)
