6-1-21: PENALTY:
   A.   General Penalty; Continuing Violations:
      1.   Wherever in any section of this title the doing of any act is required or is prohibited or is declared to be unlawful, and no specific fine or penalty is provided for violation thereof, any person who, is convicted of a violation of any provision of this title shall, for each offense, be punished as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code; provided however that if state law makes such act or failure to do such act punishable as only a civil infraction, the violation shall be punished as a civil infraction pursuant to section 1-4-1 of this code.
      2.   The provisions of subsection A1 of this section do not apply to any section of this title in which a specific fine or penalty is expressly provided for its violation.
   B.   Amendment Of Section Subject To Penalty: In case of the amendment of any section of this title containing provisions for which a penalty is provided in another section thereof, the penalty so provided in such other section shall be held to relate and apply to the section so amended, whether reenacted in the amendatory ordinance or not, unless specifically provided therein.
