It is hereby provided that the firetrucks of the city and the cars of members of the fire department of the city shall have the right of way over all other vehicles of every kind in the city and it shall be unlawful for the owner or operator of any vehicle to drive or operate the same closer than five hundred feet (500') to any firetruck or car of a firefighter during times of fires.
