(b) Before any electrical, plumbing or HVAC contractor's registration is issued, the applicant must provide a copy of a valid and unexpired license issued by the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board to verify the applicant's knowledge of the specific specialty trade and building regulations. Renewals shall also require presentation of proof of holding a valid and unexpired state license from the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board..
(c) Where the contractor provides evidence of specialty contractor experience, such as permits or registrations issued by a governmental agency, the Chief Building Official may issue an interim residential dwelling only registration without requiring a state license until the end of the calendar year. The applicant shall subsequently present proof of his State license within the year.
