A fee shall be charged and collected for each permit for heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment, fuel supply piping, or ductwork, installations, the amount of each such fee to be determined according to the following:
(a) A $40.00 base fee plus $3.00 per 100 square feet of floor area for new structures and additions or alterations to existing structures. The square footage for heating and ventilation shell permits not indicating complete interior plans shall be calculated at twenty percent (20%) of the overall shell building area in order to cover service and temporary heating, ventilating or air conditioning.
(b) For minor alterations or repairs not associated with or incidental to a building permit for which the square footage calculation is not applicable, the following fees shall be charged and collected for each item/unit or fraction thereof installed or replaced. A $20.00 base fee for 1, 2, & 3 family dwelling or accessory structures, or a $40.00 base fee for all other installations plus the following
(1) Each heating or cooling appliance or unit, installed or replaced:
$10.00 each or $20.00 for each over 150,000 BTU
(2) Ventilating system: $10.00 each 2,000 cubic feet per minute
(3) Hydronic heating system: $10.00 each
(4) Heat exchanger: $10.00 each
(5) Hot water storage tanks: $10.00 each
(6) Duct system: $10.00 each
(7) Fuel storage residential: $10.00 each
(8) Fuel bulk storage tank, commercial and industrial, above or below ground: $10.00 each
(9) Masonry chimney or equipment vent: $10.00 each
(10) Commercial kitchen exhaust system: $10.00 each
(11) Vent connector: $10.00 each
(12) Decorative fuel burning appliance: $10.00 each
(13) Range, oven or gas light: $10.00 each
(14) Evaporative cooler or chiller: $10.00 each
(15) Humidifier: $10.00 each
(16) Gas piping (natural, process or other) up to 1” diameter for each 100 lin ft. $5.00
Over 1” diameter for each 100 lin ft. $10.00
Each gas outlet or appliance connection $10.00
(17) Inspection necessary as a consequence of faulty construction or inaccurate information given to the Building Division requiring an inspection of the permit record: $20.00 each
Or in lieu of listing of each equipment type, the applicable flat fee plus 0.1% of the total installed costs of all Heating, Ventilating, or Air Conditioning equipment and associated materials to be installed or altered.
